To celebrate her silver anniversary on the fashion scene and to unveil her 2006 collection, Joy Bernaldez has summoned the creativity of 22 of Cebu's top artists headed no less by the country's acknowledged top artist Romulo Galicano to exhibit their choice work and to duplicate it on a jusi gown that she herself designed. The result was a stunning rendition on some of the artists' works that were colorfully hand-painted on jusi gowns. To present Bernaldez's 2006 collection, models have been culled from the Models Association of Cebu with special participation of Karla Bautista, erstwhile Miss Cebu and the Binibing Pilipinas World 2004. Miss Cebu 2002 Melanie Ediza was also on the ramp. "Masterpieces: An Art & Fashion Show" was presented at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel's Atlantic Ballroom on December 2, 2005 starting at 6:00 p.m. Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia and Congresswoman Nerissa Soon Ruiz cut the ribbon to open the show which had, by all accounts, became a night to remember.
