'The Church of Daraga'
Year: 1989
Size: 21 x 29
Medium: Ink, Sedimental
The subject is an eighteenth century church in -the province of
Albay, and among the oldest surviving Spanish colonial churches
in the Philippines. Here the medium illustrates not only to the
subject's historical attributes, being a unique example of local
baroque, but - through the weathered or moss like character of ink
sediments - also expresses the unspoiled physical nature of an old
relic. The work is currently on display at Cebu City Museum..
