Using similar technique and materials, this particular work can be traced back to a scenery after an Indonesian batik-like image that the artist had seen in his childhood. Though the artist had little knowledge in batik-making, he went on ahead with his own paint and printing process. 'Kuwaresma' is defined as the summer's peak climate, usually occurring in the humid tropical lands. Here the house appears like mirage in the Yellow heat of negative spaces given off by flanking acacia trees.
